CHASE THIS! Racing News And ResultsWeekend Racing Results.ARCA RE/MAX Series Lucas Oil Slick Mist 200: Winner - Bobby Gerhart The Budweiser Shootout: Winner - Kevin Harvick Racing News.Mark Martin wins Pole for the 52 Daytona 500. Dale Earnhardt Jr. on outside pole. NASCAR to cut race purses to all three series. NASCAR will cut about 10 percent the race winnings it awards teams in the Sprint Cup, Nationwide and Truck Series this season. This reduction is part of cost-cutting measures that will hopefully alleviate some of the financial burdens on race tracks that have suffered during these tough economic times and has forced them to cut ticket prices due to declining attendance. NASCAR announces changes including the transition back to the spoiler, getting rid of "the wing". Among other changes: Bump-drafting rules will be eliminated at Daytona and Talladega, and a larger restrictor plate at Daytona. The yellow out-of-bounds line at Daytona International Speedway and Talladega Superspeedway will remain, pending more discussion with NASCAR officals and drivers. |
